Manage JioHotstar renewals: find who bills you and avoid duplicate subscriptions
You may use JioHotstar in one app while a different service manages the payment. That distinction matters when you want to stop renewal, change plans or investigate a charge. Start with the receipt and account record rather than the app icon.
First question: who supplied the access and who collected the payment? A direct subscription, an app-store subscription and a telecom benefit can require different management steps.
Identify the purchase channel

Search your private receipts for the merchant and date. If you use several Google accounts, inspect the account that made the purchase. A subscription missing from one account’s list is not proof that no recurring payment exists.
Make a small renewal register
You do not need a complex finance app. A private note or spreadsheet with six fields is enough: service, purchase channel, account identifier you can recognise, billing period, next renewal or expiry date, and the management location. Keep passwords and verification codes out of it.
Add the amount due next if shown, distinguishing it from an introductory price. Set a reminder early enough to inspect the actual terms before you decide. The purpose is to create time for a decision, not to assume every service has the same cancellation deadline.
Review the plan against your next period of use
Ask whether the programmes you want are still available, which screens you expect to use and how many simultaneous sessions you need. A plan that suited a sports season may be unnecessary in a quiet month. Conversely, stopping renewal without understanding a legacy offer can affect the terms available when you return.
Compare the full future commitment rather than only a monthly equivalent. Keep a dated copy of the offer or account screen privately when it explains a renewal condition you need to remember.
If Google Play manages the subscription
Open Play Store → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, using the correct Google account. Select the relevant subscription and follow the displayed management or cancellation flow. Read the confirmation and effective date; uninstalling the app does not cancel a Play subscription.
Cancellation and refund are different questions. Check the conditions applying to the particular purchase instead of assuming that stopping a future renewal reverses a charge already made.
If access comes from a partner bundle
Read the benefit’s current terms and activation requirements. Jio’s published offers, for example, attach access to an eligible plan, number and ongoing recharge conditions. Your own offer may differ. An app-store subscription list will not necessarily explain a separate partner entitlement.
If a benefit stops appearing, check the partner account and required activation before buying direct access. Ask support whether the entitlement is missing, expired or attached to a different account. That is more useful than immediately adding a second paid plan.
Verify the outcome of a change
- Save the cancellation or plan-change confirmation.
- Record the effective date and access period shown.
- Check whether any separate subscription or partner benefit remains active.
- Update your renewal register.
- If a later charge looks wrong, compare its merchant and date with that confirmation.
For a discrepancy, prepare the account, purchase channel, charge date, amount and relevant reference for official private support. Do not share an OTP or payment PIN with someone promising an instant renewal refund. The useful end state is a clear account record you can verify, whether you keep or stop the plan.
